Gender Madlibs will be returning this year!

We’ll do three rounds of ten readers in between the following speakers:

Chunky Dunk Sunday August 1This Sunday, August 1, Chunky Dunk presents a special Trans and Allies swim event with proceeds going to Gender (Free) for All! Suit up and get wet with a bunch of fabulous folks!

All trans, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming folks are invited to this affirming dunk. Allies, friends, partners, families – please join us! A special dunk to benefit Gender (Free) For All!

Swimming for everyBODY! Bring your friends and family! All ages welcome! (Children must be supervised.)

Cannonball competitions! Skimpy swimwear! More tattooed fatties than you can shake a stick at! There might even be a Speedo or two! Ex…clamation points!!! Basically, the most fun you can have on a Sunday afternoon without breakin’ the law!

$10-5 sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds.

Gender Free for All Rally FlierWe’re counting down to the Rally next Saturday and getting ready! In addition to speakers and entertainment, Amy Ruiz from the Mayor’s office will issue a proclamation of Trans Celebration Week.

UPDATE: Rally ONLY at Unthank on 8/7

There will be a rally ONLY (no march) on Saturday August 7th. Right pointing arrow

We are still at Unthank Park on August 7th, starting at 4pm.  The rally will go from 4 until 7pm. There will be a repeat of the proclamation from the city of Portland of Trans Week of Celebration.  We will have speakers, entertainment, and provide water.  Celebrators are highly encouraged to bring snacks for themselves, and something to share!

Gender Free for All’s YOUR VOICE

A Call For Submissions

Want to add your voice to the Transgender/Genderqueer/Gender Non-conforming story?

Gender Free For All! is looking for stories or experiences that answer one of the following prompts, to be read at this year’s Rally at Unthank Park on August 7th from 4 to 7pm. Ten submissions will be chosen.

1. Tell the story of one of the first times anyone used your preferred pronoun.

2. Share a moment when you celebrated/were proud of your gender identity.

Please submit your story in 250 words or less, by July 31st. By submitting, you agree to be available and prepared to read your narrative on August 7th.

GFFA Community Survey: Make your voice heard

We want to get feedback from the community regarding planning for this year’s Gender (Free) for All march and future marches. If you have comments about the march route, the presence of police at the rally, or other issues, let us know by filling out our online survey.
